Chiropractor or Chiropractic Neurologist

The Keiser Clinic is a privately owned, small-team rehabilitation clinic in Chelsea, Michigan. We work outside the hospital and insurance hamster wheel, so our days are built around our patients and not around billing codes.

Our patients fly in from across the country and stay with us for 2 to 4 weeks at a time. They live with chronic neurological conditions that have taken their daily lives away from them, and many can no longer get through a normal day. They have exhausted every other option, and the traditional insurance-driven system never gave them the quality time with a doctor that they needed. We're their last stop, and we take that seriously.

What you'll do

• Examine each patient and review their testing, including video-oculography, transcranial Doppler, and capnography
• Build each patient's brain-first treatment plan around what their testing shows
• Provide hands-on care, including neck and spine care
• Care for patients diagnosed with POTS, ME/CFS, Long COVID, post-concussion syndrome, and other debilitating conditions throughout their 2 to 4 week stay, and watch closely for patients who crash when they do too much
• Work alongside our therapists, nurses, and trainers, who help carry out each patient's program
• Write customized home programs that patients take with them to continue their care after they leave
• Follow up with patients virtually by email after they go home, answer their questions, and keep their rehab moving
• Sit in daily case rounds with our entire team, where we review every patient we saw that day

How we work

Our patients spend hours each day with us in our intensive program, and we currently see fewer than 20 patients per week. That's intentional, because it gives every patient the time their case deserves.

We're growing the team so we can get closer to our goal of helping 10,000 patients over the next 10 years reclaim their lives from bedridden and housebound states.

What you'll learn

Come with your own background and specialty, and the desire to learn ours. We'll train you extensively, with hands-on mentorship from our entire team, in brain-first autonomic and neurological rehabilitation. You'll learn:

• How we test: video-oculography, transcranial Doppler, capnography, and autonomic testing
• How we read cerebral blood flow and autonomic findings together, and treat what they show
• Vestibular and oculomotor rehabilitation
• Exercise pacing guided by how each patient's autonomic system and cerebral blood flow respond
• How a full team works from a single case review each day

You'll probably love it if

• You have a real interest in functional neurology and the brain-first approach.
• You love hands-on care and want extended one-on-one time with each patient, instead of a 30-minute visit in a revolving door.
• You want a job with no billable units, productivity metrics, or insurance write-ups.
• You can take a patient's symptoms seriously after they've been told it was only anxiety.
• You're always researching because you care about your patients' lives, and you want to bring new ideas into the clinic.

It's probably not for you if

• You prefer to follow one set protocol and aren't looking to try new ideas.
• You find it hard to think on your feet.
